COMMUNITY ACTION AND SERVICE
  • Club members and friends annually raise donations to purchase dictionaries for every third grader in New Brunswick, North Brunswick, and Highland Park.
  • We host a literacy campaign with Author Thomas Kinslow from Dewey Does.  Thomas has written a new booklet called "I am your Lil Superhero" and we are distributing free copies to local elementary schools to  literacy improve literacy and creative writing.  
  • Annually our club donates to the local three local food banks: Elijah's Promise, The Salvation Army and the Rutgers Student Food Pantry. 
  • Rotary Club members and Rutgers Rotaract members help clean local streets in North Brunswick and New Brunswick and the cemetery located behind the Public Library.
  • The club annually donates to support many local charities and organizations. 
  • We support community fundraising events for charities like: Prevent Child Abuse NJ, Cystic Fibrosis, Elijah's Promise, and others.
  • Our club has worked with the New Brunswick Fire Departments to renovate the living quarters of three firehouses.  The club has also helped provide cardio-vascular exercise equipment to improve health and physical fitness of firefighters
  • We have organized special fund-raising events such as the Murder Mystery Program and Casino Night to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in New Jersey, relief for disaster recovery and other worthwhile causes.
  • For 8 years the club annually hosted a Celebrity Basketball event featuring former Rutgers athletes who play in the National Football League.  The Celebrity team plays against local police officers, firefighters, community members, and the local Special Olympics athletes in a friendly competition to benefit local organizations.  All of the honor roll 
  • During holidays we have collected food and clothing for needy and homeless people in the community.
  • Our clean roads project aims to support local road maintenance activities in selected heavily traffic areas to improve appearance and reduce the negative impact on the environment.
  • We have actively supported and participated in the City of New Brunswick Sister Cities student exchange program with Tsuruoka, Japan.
