The Greater New Brunswick Rotary invites you to our members meeting on
September 29th, 2022, 6 PM. Elks Lodge 40 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, N.J. 08901
SPREADING THE SERVICE-ABOVE-SELF MESSAGE THROUGH THE POWER OF STORYTELLING (Children's Literacy Project)
Rotary Club of Greater New Brunswick is excited to share details of the Children Literacy Project which we are sponsoring for the 3rd graders of the Elementary Schools in our community.
Accomplished children’s author Thomas M. Kinslow (who is a member of our Club) is donating his passion for this mission. He’s partnering with Community Service Organizations around the U.S. to write this extremely fun, exciting and inspiring book ‘I am your LiL Superhero’ exclusively for 3rd graders that will be distributed through Rotary Clubs to promote and strengthen youth literacy. This book conveys the message of Rotary - Service Above Self and volunteering - by describing the day-to-day activities of the main character Dewey Does.
This program entitled “I am your LiL Superhero” can be an extension of the Dictionary Project (if your club is involved with that) or exclusive for your fund raising and literacy promotion efforts.
Benefits include, unique to Rotary Clubs, motivate children's reading, great for fundraising initiatives, brand awareness, membership growth due to growing brand messaging. Makes a great gift and conversation starter.
If you would like to consider this project for the Elementary School children in your community, please contact following New Brunswick Rotary Club members to get additional details and sample copies of the book: 1. Thomas Kinslow (thomas@deweydoes.com) 2. Sharan Jain (jainsh.sj@gmail.com)
The Clubs can apply for District Grant to undertake this project.
Thomas and Sharan are also available to visit your club to present this project to club members.
Our Club has also organized a Dinner Event on September 29 at Elks Lodge in New Brunswick from 6 to 8 PM to make a presentation on this project. You or any other member of your club is welcome to join us that night. We would need to know latest by Monday, Sep 19 if you are able to join.
We hope you can join us for knowledge, networking, and festivities. We look forward to hearing from you.
