Steve Shaw the committee chairperson of the North Brunswick Street Cleanup had made arrangements with Lou Ann Benson, Parks and Recreation Director to once again have the Rotary club participate in the semi annual two mile long street cleanup on busy Cozzens Lane in North Brunswick. This event has been taking place during the last 3 years.

On Saturday, April 16, 2016 4 Rotary Club of New Brunswick members and 8 Rotaract students were met by Park Ranger Wayne. Each donned safety vests, gloves, were given a large plastic bag for the trash, and a picker. Rotary members teamed with Rotaract students in order to get to know the college kids better, and to do the job efficiently.

Ranger Wayne drove his SUV behind the group in order to make sure that all were safe.

After the long winter there was lots of trash on the ground to pick up. The cleanup lasted almost two hours.

The township is so appreciate of this project that Regal Cinema movie passes were given to the Rotaract participants.

The Township of North Brunswick is so proud of this project that they have erected up a permanent street sign saying”. Now that the Rotaract act students have been helping out an addition sign will be affixed to the regular sign to reflect the Rotaract's participation. On May 2 a proclamation was read at the North Brunswick Township’s Council meeting thanking the Rotaract club for their hard work.
