Our Club has developed partnerships to help advance the educational goals of three nearby school districts: New Brunswick, Highland Park and North Brunswick.
 
From the gift of literacy to undergraduate scholarships, Rotary has annual programs supporting local education.
  • Each 3rd grade student receives their own dictionary for use at school and at home. This donation will assist students become better writers, more active readers and resourceful learners.
  • Rotary Scholarships are awarded to college bound graduates who have demonstrated the highest academic achievement and extensive community service during their high school years, and need financial assistance to enroll in college.

The Dictionary Project

The Dictionary Project based in Charleston, South Carolina manages distribution of dictionaries to third grade students in all 50 states of USA. Since its implementation in 1995, over 18 million children have received dictionaries based on generous support from thousands of people all across the country and organizations such as Rotary Club, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club and many more.

The Rotary Club of New Brunswick is very proud to be part of this program and we have so far distributed over 16000 dictionaries to third grades in New Brunswick, North Brunswick and Highland Park Elementary Schools.

Our Club received below thank you note in February 2017 from Mary French, Director of the Dictionary Project :

"Thank you for donating over 16000 dictionaries to the children where you live. You have left an indelible mark on the lives of the children in your community by letting them know that you support their education and you want to see them succeed. Hopefully they will become Rotarians. We are proud to be part of the good work you do in your community and around the world through Rotary to improve the quality of life for everyone."

Our Rotary club is committed to continue our participation in this project.
